Explanatory notes on deadlines
In order for a
bill to meet the deadline, it must comply with all relevant rules, and a
certified manuscript must be received by Parliament.
The
calculations for the deadlines are based on the following formula:
· Six week
legislative cycle for NCOP and a four-week period for the NA in respect of
section 76 bills, and a further two weeks for technical preparation at
introduction.
· Three week
legislative cycle for the NCOP and a four-week period for the NA in respect of
section 75 bills, and a further two weeks for technical preparation at
introduction.
